Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled

Technical Designer

to support the design development and technical documentation of interior fit-out projects in the UAE. The role involves translating design concepts into detailed technical drawings, coordinating with consultants and site teams, and ensuring compliance with project requirements and local regulations. The Technical Designer will also provide guidance and support to junior designers and draftspersons, helping maintain quality and consistency across design deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:Technical Drawings & Design Development

Prepare detailed technical and shop drawings for interior fit-out projects, including plans, sections, elevations, joinery details, and material layouts. Develop construction-ready drawings based on design intent, specifications, and project requirements. Update and revise drawings in line with design changes, site conditions, and consultant feedback.

Coordination & Technical Support

Liaise with Project Managers, Engineers, QS teams, and site staff to ensure design feasibility and constructability. Provide technical solutions and guidance for design-related issues during execution. Support junior design staff by reviewing their drawings and providing constructive feedback.

Authority & Compliance

Ensure drawings comply with UAE building codes, local authority requirements, and project standards. Assist in preparing drawings and documentation required for authority submissions and approvals.

Materials & Specifications

Prepare and coordinate material specifications, finishes schedules, and sample submissions. Ensure materials and detailing align with approved designs and client requirements.

Quality Control & Documentation

Maintain proper documentation for drawings, revisions, and approvals. Review technical drawings for accuracy, coordination, and compliance before issuance. Assist in preparing as-built drawings and handover documentation.

Team Support & Guidance

Provide mentorship and guidance to junior designers and draftspersons. Ensure design work from the team meets quality, technical, and timeline expectations. Share best practices and support skill development within the design team.

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related discipline. Minimum

3+ years of experience in interior fit-out projects within the UAE

. Strong understanding of interior fit-out construction methods, materials, and detailing. Proven experience in preparing technical and shop drawings for fit-out works. Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential; knowledge of Revit, SketchUp, or BIM tools is an advantage. Familiarity with UAE authority standards and approval processes is preferred. Good communication, coordination, and mentoring skills.
