Responsibilities:

As an Indirect Tax Manager / Senior Manager, you\xe2\x80\x99ll work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our clients solve their complex business issues from strategy to execution. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

\xe2\x97\x8f Shape and deliver projects to meet and exceed the expectations of our clients and our own quality criteria.
\xe2\x97\x8f Manage the production of high quality, and technically sound VAT deliverables and memo\xe2\x80\x99s on a range of UAE and wider GCC matters.
\xe2\x97\x8f Proactively assist in the management of a portfolio of clients.
\xe2\x97\x8f Manage and develop client relationships.
\xe2\x97\x8f Develop industry specific knowledge and understand how VAT impacts these industries.
\xe2\x97\x8f Be responsible for the financial management of client projects and engagements (including WiP management, billing, risk management & collections).
\xe2\x97\x8f Be actively involved in business development activities to help identify and research opportunities on new/existing clients.
\xe2\x97\x8f Train, coach, and supervise team members.

Requirements for the role:

The role will be focussed primarily on the Real Estate Hospitality and Leisure (REHL) sector, supporting the industry driver and wider REHL team.

\xe2\x97\x8f Excellent English language skills (excellent written and verbal communication skills and an ability to communicate complex transactions and advice in a clear manner to a wide non tax audience).
\xe2\x97\x8f Previous work experience as a Manager at a Big 4 advisory firm (minimum 7 years experience required for the role).

\xe2\x97\x8f Specialism in UAE / GCC real estate (e.g. the candidate will have a detailed understanding of the operation of the UAE real estate market).
\xe2\x97\x8f A detailed understanding of key indirect tax implications / considerations on typical real estate transactions.
\xe2\x97\x8f Experience of the hospitality sector and operating models.
\xe2\x97\x8f A detailed understanding of the application of partial exemption and special methods application in the real estate sector.
\xe2\x97\x8f Practical experience / understanding of the UAE capital asset scheme.
\xe2\x97\x8f Experience / understanding of real estate transactions in the wider GCC / other jurisdictions.
\xe2\x97\x8f Experience of handling workshops / discussions with multiple senior client stakeholders.
\xe2\x97\x8f Experience of managing large client accounts (including project management, invoicing and team management.
\xe2\x97\x8f Experience of GCC VAT (including VAT implementation).
\xe2\x97\x8f Professional Qualification preferable - GCC VAT Diploma or alike.
\xe2\x97\x8f Experience of supporting clients with complex advisory matters.
\xe2\x97\x8f Experience of undertaking indirect tax health checks / reviews to identify potential areas of risk and potential mitigation.
\xe2\x97\x8f Ability to work independently and proactively in an organized manner.
\xe2\x97\x8f Ability to work collaboratively with other lines of service.
\xe2\x97\x8f Advanced proficiency with Excel, Powerpoint, Alteryx, PowerBI, etc.
\xe2\x97\x8f Experience of preparing and managing client proposals and budgeting.
\xe2\x97\x8f Ability to work to tight deadlines and to be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
\xe2\x97\x8f Proven ability to lead projects and demonstrate ownership / independence.
\xe2\x97\x8f Experience in leading / supporting business development initiatives.
