Job Title Supply Chain Manager

Description

Job Summary

1. To lead and monitor the performance of plant with respect to achieving performance targets, growth and profitability

2. To ensure all activities from production planning to dispatch of finished product are in accordance with standard operating procedures, safety and environmental norms

Roles & Responsibilities

Strategic

1. Support Head- Operations in developing the short term and long term operations strategy for the plant in line with the overall business plans for the business unit

2. Lead the production function at the plant for achievement of production targets; monitor target achievement through periodic reviews and take corrective action if necessary

3. Promote a culture of adherence to all safety & environment norms in the plant

Operational

4. Review and validate the forecasted requirements as received from the shift-in charge / line supervisors (e.g. replacement of major and expensive parts, expansion/debottlenecking projects, additional manpower etc.)

5. In accordance with the production order as planned by the production planner, manage the daily scheduling and execution of the production equipment and facilities

6. Prepare daily, weekly and monthly production MIS reports to match actual performance vis-a-vis the targets and identify action steps to minimize variance

7. Attend daily production meetings with shift in charges, monitor the production output of the respective lines in the assigned shift and provide inputs to the Shift In-charge for any modifications in the next day's production plan

8. Submit production reports to the Head- Operations on a daily and monthly basis and analyse variance (if any)from target to forecasted production

9. Monitor and control overall cost of production at the plant including manpower cost, material cost, cost due to rejections and rework etc.

10. Plan and organize process improvements to optimize production cost, quality and capacity utilization

11. Adhere to inventory norms and minimize cost of inventory for all material types (raw materials, consumables, etc.)

12. Work with supply chain team for timely issue and dispatch of materials, inter departmental coordination and inventory control activities

13. Coordinate with quality control to maintain quality standards and take corrective measures to resolve deficiencies

14. Lead compliance of all production activities with standard operating practices (SOP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), company policies, procedures and production schedules

15. Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement in all aspects of the manufacturing process and suggest productivity improvements at the plant level

16. Coordinate with the Maintenance shift in-charges to resolve breakdowns if any

17. Drive adherence to EHS norms and guidelines in all production activity and take corrective actions for non-compliance, if any

18. Ensure adherence to all legal and statutory compliances for the plant as per the required guidelines

19. Evaluate and support management in benchmarking the best practices and implement ideas to improve existing processes and ensure cost reduction and productivity enhancement

20. Oversee manpower deployment and mobilization across production lines and shifts; handle concerns/queries of workers if any

People Management

21. Allocate work to subordinates, nominate for training as per guidelines, conduct performance reviews and manage leave and overtime to ensure efficiency.

22. Mentor and motivate team members to improve their productivity levels

KPIs

1. % adherence to production schedule

2. % overall equipment effectiveness (OEE)

3. Number of non-compliances / deviations highlighted by quality

4. Cost of rework

5. Per unit production cost

6. % variances (material, labour and overhead)

7. % adherence to requirements in health and safety audits

8. Man-days productivity per unit

Work experience requirement

7+ years of related experience in manufacturing or operations management including 3+ years of experience in

handling teams preferably in a manufacturing setup

A Experience in FMCG organizations is preferable

Qualification

Graduate Technical Degree with specialization preferably in Food technology, Mechanical or Electrical

Engineering

A Post-Graduate Professional Degree (Masters in Engineering/Technology) is an advantage
