Job Description

Lead, direct and administer skilled workers engaged in steel work activities on-board and workshop including but not limited to plate work, fit-up & alignment works for timely delivery of projects.

Key Accountabilities: Act as first line supervisor for fabrication activities in line with the work instruction providing the best fit for welders. Ensure workers are maintaining proper housekeeping of work place at required standards. Monitor and report any issues and delays to Foreman promptly. Motivate staff to take initiative and support staff through on-job-training/education. Explain specifications, work list, vessel repair plan etc to platers/workers. Direct the team for necessary proceeding to give the best fit for welding. Motivate productive and safe performance to give the best fit for welding. Ensure all HSE and Quality aspects are met. Assisting in manpower requirement reviews.

Qualifications: Diploma/Industrial Training certificate in engineering or equivalent.

Experience: First line supervision experience in ship yard / heavy industries. Familiarity with plate/fit out wowrks with atleast 3 years of experience in lead position.

Technical: Knowledge and experience in ship repair and new building yard. Ability to read, interpret and follow method statements and procedures, specifications, drawings and all other discipline related project and engineering documentation. Thorough knowledge in various types steel works, steel structures and welding procedures specifications.
