. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, overseeing inventory levels, conducting regular stock audits, and ensuring that all stock-related transactions are properly recorded and reconciled.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate records of all inventory transactions in the accounting system.
Monitor daily stock movements and investigate discrepancies.
Conduct regular physical stock counts and cycle counts.
Coordinate with storekeepers and warehouse staff to verify stock levels.
Reconcile stock records with actual counts and report variances.
Prepare and maintain inventory valuation reports.
Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual inventory audits.
Ensure compliance with internal controls and inventory policies.
Liaise with the finance and procurement departments regarding goods receipts and invoicing.
Support the preparation of stock-related financial reports and statements.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a retail, warehouse, or trading environment.
Strong knowledge of inventory management and stock control procedures.
Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Experience with ERP systems is a plus.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with FIFO, LIFO, and weighted average inventory methods.
Knowledge of VAT and other applicable tax regulations related to stock.
Good communication and coordination skills.
