Job Description

Job Title: Sr. Engineer / Manager (MEP) Job Objective: To participate in design development and site execution to ensure general compliance of all MEP works with shop drawings, specifications, and contract requirements. Detailed Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Monitor / Oversee MEP design and construction activities across projects (within the building component) and provide support.
2. Provide feedback regarding project progress, status, changes and ensure the consultants are delivering design according to company standard.
3. Lead the Design Consultants, Supervision Consultants and Contractors throughout the duration of the project. Manage end-to-end engineering solutions related to the MEP works of the Site development.
4. Ensure that MEP design and project drawings meets local regulations and international standards and codes.
5. Meet the requirements of the business plan and objectives in line with the company vision and mission.
6. Monitor activities related to MEP Design and Construction works and implement best practices for MEP engineering at the company.
7. Provide technical expertise and knowhow on MEP issues across geographies.
8. Provide guidance that captures design decisions that minimize cost and time overruns, at the same time delivering high quality projects.
9. Prepare standardized MEP Engineering methodologies, tools, and best practices to ensure consistency in high quality deliverables.
10. Provide technical support and input on the strategy related to MEP, green building, and energy efficiency.
11. Commission or carry out a thorough site survey to ensure that work is carried out to the appropriate standards.
12. Design review of MEP components at various stages, in line with the approved design criteria and standards
13. Conduct Value Engineering studies in order to identify and recommend areas for cost reduction from optimal re-design of projects and optimal quantity of required construction materials.
14. Interface with consultants, contractors and external stakeholders to monitor the status of the Projects.
15. Oversee the execution of MEP activities.
16. Provide technical expertise when needed (in difficult, atypical cases).
17. Provide feedback to procurement on contractors/consultant\xe2\x80\x99s performance. Support in conducting technical analysis of tender bids.
18. Identify any changes to master plan/Project that may have design implications, communicate to stakeholders (Construction, Project Management, Procurement and Development Management) and propose mitigation strategies.
19. Provide design input to the department for conducting feasibility study.
20. Liaison with the Site team/consultants to make sure that the drawings and design are as per the local regulations and international standards.
21. Monitor and control the progress of the project delivered by the contractor and the consultant to ensure that the project specifications and approved parameters are met.
22. Attend regular technical/ progress/cost/ planning meetings as required.
23. Support/Validate the Consultants proposals and advice management on the recommendation for appointment of consultants when needed.
24. Review, comment and validate any changes from approved tender documents proposed by consultants / contractors.
25. Review the cost and time impact submitted by consultants and advise the project team the actual impact and mitigation measures.
26. Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of section, systems, processes, and practices taking into account \xe2\x80\x98international best practice\xe2\x80\x99, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.
27. Continually research and evaluate new technologies and methodologies in order to keep abreast of state-of-the-art developments.
28. Liaise with the consultants to make sure that the engineer design is as per the local regulations and international standards.
29. Review and distribute reports to project management related to MEP works.
30. Perform other duties and responsibilities as required by management as well as determine and manage prioritize work with minimal guidance.
31. To ensure smooth handover of facilities to the operator or facility management company. Accountabilities: To ensure that the design development and construction execution is in line with best practices in the field, and to ensure general compliance of all MEP works with shop drawings, specifications and contract requirements. Qualifications:
1. Bachelor\'s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
2. Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in related discipline is preferred. Experience:
1. 15+ years of progressive professional experience in an engineering project management and construction management role, preferably within a reputed regional developer / PMC /consultancy / contractor.
2. Experience in Mechanical/Electrical Project Management function (e.g. operations maintenance, contract administration, commissioning, project management, consultancy).
3. Project Management Professional and Good knowledge of the relevant real estate markets Licensed or Chartered Professional Engineering Certificate.
4. Comprehensive knowledge of industry standards.
5. Proven ability to perform in a management capacity, excellent written and oral communications.
6. Proven experience in the execution of five-star hotels and mixed used developments. Job Type: Full-time Application Deadline: 06/03/2023
