Bachelor of Architectural

Training / Awareness

International Standards and Codes, ISO 9001 Internal Audit Course Quality Management System etc.

Technical knowledge

Junior Architect

Proficient in reading and interpreting architectural plans, sections, elevations, and details Ability to understand design intent and translate it into on-site implementation Knowledge of CAD software, such as AutoCAD or Revit Knowledge of common construction materials, their properties, and appropriate applications Understanding of various construction techniques, such as framing, masonry, and MEP systems Knowledge of construction inspection procedures and techniques Ability to identify and document defects, deviations, and non-conformities Proficiency in using BIM software, such as Revit, for construction coordination and documentation Knowledge of BIM workflows and their integration into the construction process Understanding of sustainable design principles and green building certification programs Knowledge of energy-efficient construction methods and materials

Senior Architect

Extensive expertise in reading, interpreting, and evaluating architectural plans, sections, elevations, and details Ability to provide design input and recommendations to the project team Proficiency in using advanced CAD and BIM software for design documentation and coordination Thorough understanding of the applicable building codes, zoning laws, and safety standards Expertise in identifying code requirements, interpreting them, and ensuring compliance during construction Comprehensive knowledge of construction materials, their properties, and appropriate applications In-depth understanding of various construction techniques, including emerging technologies and innovations Expertise in project management principles, tools, and software Ability to develop and implement effective project plans, manage schedules, budgets, and resources Thorough understanding of contract documents, change orders, and dispute resolution processes Ability to effectively negotiate and communicate with contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders Mastery of BIM software and workflows, including integration with other project management tools Ability to leverage BIM for construction coordination, visualization, and decision-making Extensive knowledge of sustainable design principles and green building certification programs Expertise in incorporating energy-efficient construction methods and materials into project designs Able to manage one or more Junior Inspectors

Experience

Junior architect: minimum 3 years experience as site architect or in similar role


Senior architect: minimum 6 years experience as site architect or in similar role

Responsibilities / Authorities / Accountabilities

Primary Functions

Junior architect: The primary function of a junior site architect is to assist and support the lead site architect in overseeing the on-site implementation and execution of architectural designs and plans.


Senior Architect: The primary function of a senior site architect is to provide strategic leadership and technical expertise in overseeing the on-site execution and successful completion of architectural projects.

Technical Expertise

The expected level of technical expertise includes:

Architectural design and drawings Building codes and regulations Construction methods and materials Project management Site inspection and Quality Assurance Contract administration Building information Modelling (BIM) Sustainability and Geen Building

Business Requirements

Ensuring quality of inspection according to BV Quality System Identification of Non-conformities / corrective actions Understanding of inspection procedures Maintaining internal and external communication Promotes Bureau Veritas service portfolio to clients Complete essential business information (invoicing, timesheets, etc).

HSE Requirements

Authorized to stop work if condition, situation, environment...etc. is not safe to perform the activity (immediately inform to reporting person in the department for further guidance, if this authority is used). Accountable to take care of own health and safety and that of people who may be affected by what can do or cannot do. Accountable for co-operating with others on health and safety, and not interfere with, or misuse, anything provided for health, safety or welfare. Perform his duties in safe environment and respond to emergency situations as required by local procedures. Submittal of required reports within time frame / as assigned Comply at all times with all applicable legal requirements, BV Dubai HSE Policies, procedures and practices. Maintain personal work areas tidy and hazard free and report any deviation/fault/hazard immediately to the location manager/line manager/ QHSE Manager Reporting all incidents / Near Miss reporting as well as taking action whenever any unsafe act or condition is observed. Responsible for giving feedback on HSE issues for improvement as part of participation and consultation requirement. Report immediately any newly identified hazard and participate in devising suitable operational control to eliminate/minimize the pertinent risk. Report immediately any HSE incident and cooperate in investigation Use appropriate PPE in the work area and be aware of: + the risks appropriate PPE will control or minimize
+ Report immediately in case the PPE is worn off or lost.
Communicate with their immediate manager any unsafe work practice or condition and opportunities for improvement of HSE practices.

Performance Monitoring

Continual Development

Complete requirements for appropriate professional trainings in specified time frames. Regular reading of professional journals and other technical literature. Attend appropriate courses/seminars Progress towards developing individual distinctive competence targets.

Time taken to deliver the report to the client Quality of report Inspection done within the allocated timeframe Share information, best practice, Knowledge Management Technical capability.
