Our client, a top tier government entity within higher education sector is looking to hire a Senior Strategy Manager for their research and academic affairs team.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development of and monitor the Research and Development budget and spending to ensure availability of sufficient financial resources - Scan, monitor, and investigate the Research and Development landscape in the UAE; especially in the higher education area - Formulate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the research and development ecosystem - Act as an advisor to teams across other functions to support with their research and development and analyses needs - Formulate and monitor the policies and procedures to guide the research grant lifecycle including the pre-award, award, and post-award phases - Manage and develop documentation associated with grant awards, renewals, and progress reporting, including both financial and research aspects - Actively plan and lead preparation for relevant governance committees - Lead and support practice building initiatives e.g., learning and development, recruitment, etc. as needed.
Requirements:
- Minimum 7 years of experience in e.g., management consultancy, research grant management, a research funding body, a government department/ministry of education, or a company specialized in higher education - Experience in higher education in the UAE or the GCC is preferred - Demonstrable experience in managing engagement with stakeholders in the R&D and higher education ecosystem - Experience in leading complex, multi-stakeholder engagements - Experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects, preferably in a public sector context
