We are seeking a Senior Safety Engineer to join our team for a major port project in Kuwait. In this critical role, you will be responsible for overseeing all safety aspects of the project.
Develop and implement comprehensive safety programs for the port construction project
Conduct thorough risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for all project phases
Review and approve safety plans, procedures, and design documents
Supervise construction activities to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards
Investigate incidents, near-misses, and accidents, providing detailed reports and recommendations
Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders to integrate safety into all project aspects
Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of the construction site
Provide safety training and education to project personnel and contractors
Stay updated on local and international maritime safety regulations and ensure project compliance
Prepare and present safety performance reports to senior management and clients
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, or a related field
Minimum of 12 years of experience in safety engineering, with a focus on large-scale construction projects
Proven experience in port construction projects and familiarity with maritime safety regulations
Strong knowledge of international safety standards for port facilities and construction
Proficiency in risk assessment, incident investigation, and safety training methodologies
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail
Strong communication and leadership abilities to influence safety culture across all project levels
* Proficiency in safety management software and Microsoft Office suite
