About this role
  • Ensure operational and engineering requirements are immediately attended as required by the business;
  • Ensure reactiveness and persuasion of suppliers for urgent tactical procurement to ensure materials are delivered on a timely manner;
  • Assess operational risks of current and potential requirements and focusing efforts to support operational requirements;
  • Guide the user departments for compliance with approved sourcing policies, Delegation of Authority Matrix, business engagement and Code of Business Conduct;
  • Process approved requisitions from user departments for the purchase of materials and equipment by placing orders with approved vendors within the local and international market; Maximize value and optimize saving by coordinating alternate sourcing of material, product evaluation, lifecycle costing, competitive bidding and price negotiations with suppliers;
  • Ensure the uninterrupted supply of materials and equipment to Production and Engineering in coordination with Logistics Personnel and ensure the timely delivery of materials and equipment through forward planning, knowledge of lead times, market conditions and by expediting materials;

  • Ensure quality requirements are met by adherence to Company specifications and internationally recognized engineering codes and standards;
  • Resolve disputes arising with vendors concerning quality, price or delivery problems and handle claims and counter claims as they arise; Conduct all commercial transactions on the highest ethical standards and in accordance with good business practice and knowledge of commercial law;
  • Prepare and update the Sourcing Strategy and Contract Plan (SSCP) to ensure preparation for upcoming projects and activities to maximize impact on front end loading process;
  • Monitor and carry out inventory control functions, including maintaining sufficient quantities of critical materials, controlling additions and recoveries to stock, analyzing idle inventory, excess stock and identifying surplus stock; Review catalogue descriptions for possible duplication, preparing inventory investment forecast and variance analysis, and replenishing and reusing equipment where repair is economical;
  • Negotiate and conclude various special assignments with vendors such as price agreement, consignment and convergence alliance agreements in the most timely, cost effective and ethical manner;
  • Consolidation of purchase methods/strategies to avoid repetition and ensure that purchases are carried out in the most efficient and effective manner; price agreements, consolidation of purchases, Life Cycle Cost Analysis (LCCA), and buy house strategy; Provide strategies and be able to able to execute them successfully;
  • Management of long-term Supply Agreements and high value Purchase Orders.



What you need to bring

  • Relevant bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree, Technical Degree, Business, Supply Chain Management or Certification in Materials & Service Management;
  • 10+ years purchasing experience in the oil and gas operations or similar industry;
  • 7+ years\' experience in a similar role and similar sized organization;
  • Experience handling high value complex procurement agreements;
  • Experience in expediting beneficial;
  • Working experience with Oracle or similar major Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system;
  • Firm negotiator with an excellent knowledge of vendor market;
  • Self-directed and highly motivated
  • Highly effective interpersonal skills with excellent oral and written English communication skills;
  • Ability to prioritize amongst various demands and working well under pressure;
  • Customer service oriented;
  • Systematic and analytical;
  • High integrity and ethical values;
  • Ability to work both operationally and strategically;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite; Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
