Robert Half are working with a large and well-established financial services business headquartered in Abu Dhabi. We are looking for an experienced systems and application support specialist to join their growing team and be responsible for monitoring, managing, and supporting their global production trading systems. The Role
Main tasks include: The System Analysis / Application Support team is responsible for monitoring, managing and supporting the company's global production trading systems. Your work will range from handling time-sensitive production issues to driving forward longer-term projects, such as automation initiatives and major platform changes. You will work closely with Trading, Finance, Operations and Infrastructure teams, as well as with external counterparties and vendors.

  • Provide best-in-class operational support to ensure the stability and high availability of production trading platforms
  • Implements computer system requirements by defining and analyzing system problems, designing and testing standards and solutions.
  • Own the system roadmap, future vision, enhancements, changes and growth opportunities
  • Evaluate system architecture and make recommendations as required.
  • Plan and prioritize product feature backlog and development for the product
  • Troubleshoot production incidents and outages resulting from internal (trading systems components) or external factors (exchanges, market data feeds, network outages)
  • Provide hands-on support to trading desks on a daily basis
  • Coordinate with vendors and support team on problem resolution, design issues and upgrades.
  • Develops solution by preparing and evaluating alternative workflow solutions.
  • Build automation to configure, manage, and continuously monitor trading systems
  • Test and validate all changes and bug fixes before moving to production.
  • Own the production deployment and configuration process, and continue to evolve towards higher levels of excellence surrounding change management
  • Identify new ways to improve operations and define new solutions to solve technical or business issues that impact the companies trading platforms
  • Support diverse presence across markets, interacting with various exchanges regarding trading activity, connectivity, and other technical support issues
  • Develop and implement strategies for migration, consolidation and upgrade of trading system components.
  • Defines application problem by conferring with clients, evaluating procedures and processes.
  • Ensures operation by training client personnel and providing support.
  • Provides reference by writing documentation.
The Candidate
Required skills & competencies:
  • Bachelors/ Master's degree (or equivalent) in Computer science or related curriculum with +10 years of relevant work experience
  • Must have a solid understanding and experience working in the brokerage industry supporting electronic trading systems as a subject matter expert.
  • Strong hands-on experience in configuring, troubleshooting, SQL scripting and monitoring Data bases like Oracle 11g+ and SQL Server 2012+ is a Must.
  • Experience in: Multiple OS platforms with strong emphasis on Linux (CentOS, Red Hat, Ubuntu), Mac OS X, and Windows systems
  • Must have a strong hands-on experience in Market Data Feed technologies, FIX protocol, Refinitiv AUTEX and Bloomberg EMSX
  • Experience in maintaining integration layer using standard enterprise service bus concept for upstream/downstream systems.
  • Experience in First Information Technology (FIT) trading system and FIS Front Arena will be highly considered as an added advantage
  • Solid fundamental understanding of Infrastructure concepts such as: compute (different OS environments, virtualization, containers), networking (TCP, UDP, DNS, HTTP), and storage (object/block/file, NFS)
  • Experience in project management and managing multiple projects, and in both determining and building against business and technical requirements
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Intellectually curious individual, eager to learn and apply new concepts quickly
  • High level of ownership and accountability
  • Ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Highly collaborative team player with the ability to build relationships with multiple teams
  • Available to join an on-call rotation and work outside of core business hours or on weekends
  • Strong, clear communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation)
  • Excellent organization and technical documentation skills
  • Strong knowledge of ITIL processes like Incident, Problem Management.
  • ITIL, Prince2, SCRUM or PMP certifications will be added advantage
  • Fair Knowledge of Cloud Solutions such as Open Stack, AWS & Azure Cloud.
  • Fair knowledge of ManageEngine and SolarWinds monitoring tools.
Salary
30k (basic, housing, transport) + competitive bonus and wider company benefits
