Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented

Senior Freight Operations Officer

to lead and manage daily logistics operations across

air, sea, and land freight

. This role is crucial in ensuring smooth shipment handling, accurate documentation, and efficient coordination with customs, clients, and overseas agents.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in freight forwarding, exceptional organizational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:

Shipment Coordination:

Handle end-to-end logistics operations including booking, shipment tracking, documentation, clearance, and delivery across all freight modes (air, sea, land).

Quotations & Rate Negotiation:

Prepare and send freight quotations to clients and negotiate rates with carriers, shipping lines, and vendors.

Customs Clearance & Compliance:

Ensure all customs procedures comply with

Qatar's import/export regulations

, and oversee timely clearance of shipments.

Client & Agent Communication:

Maintain professional communication with local and international clients, partners, and freight agents to ensure seamless operations and resolve issues as they arise.

Documentation:

Prepare and manage logistics documents such as AWB, B/L, invoices, packing lists, and customs clearance paperwork.

Issue Resolution:

Address shipment delays, exceptions, or operational issues promptly to uphold service quality.

Business Development Support:

Support sales and business development teams by sourcing reliable carriers, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and building relationships with new vendors and clients.

Requirements & Qualifications:

4-5 years of experience

in freight forwarding/logistics operations Hands-on experience with

airfreight, seafreight, and land freight operations

Proven ability to

prepare freight quotations and negotiate rates

Excellent knowledge of

Qatar customs procedures

and compliance regulations Strong command of

logistics documentation

and processes

Fluent in English

; Arabic language skills are a plus Proficient in time management and multitasking Strong communication, negotiation, and client relationship skills Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines
