Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Estimator with a strong background in the Joinery & Fit-Out industry to join our team in the UAE. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately estimating costs for joinery, fit-out, and interior construction projects, ensuring that all aspects of the project are accounted for in the budget. The role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of the materials, labor, and processes involved in the fit-out industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Cost Estimation:

Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for joinery and fit-out projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and overheads. Assess project requirements and specifications, and provide precise cost calculations based on client needs and project scope. Evaluate blueprints, designs, and drawings to determine quantities and types of materials required. Source and liaise with suppliers to obtain competitive pricing for materials and services. Prepare comprehensive Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for each project.
Tendering:

Assist in the preparation of tenders and bid documents for new projects. Work closely with project managers and other team members to submit competitive and accurate bids. Analyze and evaluate tender documents to identify project requirements and scope of work.
Cost Management:

Monitor costs throughout the project lifecycle and ensure they align with the initial estimates. Track any variations, change orders, and unforeseen costs, and provide necessary reports. Collaborate with the project management team to review and control costs, ensuring profitability and project success.
Project Support:

Provide timely and accurate cost reports to project managers, senior management, and clients. Coordinate with the design team and contractors to ensure accurate and efficient execution of the project. Attend site meetings to assess progress and provide updated cost assessments.
Vendor & Supplier Management:

Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors. Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers. Ensure that materials and services are sourced in accordance with the project's requirements and budget.
Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain a well-organized system of project documentation, including estimates, quotes, cost sheets, and correspondence. Provide detailed reports on project status, including cost-to-complete estimates and budget projections. Prepare final account documents and ensure that all project costs are accounted for and accurately billed.
Risk Management:

Identify potential risks related to costs, timelines, and procurement, and propose mitigating solutions. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, quality standards, and relevant industry norms.
Requirements:

Experience:

A minimum of 5 years' experience as an Estimator in the Joinery & Fit-Out industry in the UAE. Strong knowledge of materials, processes, and costing in the fit-out and joinery sector. Proven track record in tendering, cost estimation, and project management support.
Skills:

Expertise in estimating software (e.g., Excel, AutoCAD, Estimating Software). Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, technical specifications, and other construction documents. Excellent analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:

Education:

A degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. (Additional certifications in estimating or cost management are a plus).
Knowledge:

In-depth understanding of the UAE market, suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors in the fit-out industry. Familiarity with local regulations, safety standards, and quality control protocols.
Personal Attributes:

Detail-oriented with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Strong problem-solving abilities and proactive approach. Team player with the ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks. Fluency in English is required (knowledge of Arabic is a plus).
