Job Description

The Senior Estimation Engineer / Estimator will play a critical role in managing the pre-construction phase for commercial interior fitout projects. They will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs of projects, ensuring profitability while maintaining competitive pricing, and preparing detailed cost plans, tenders, and budget estimates..

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for commercial interior fitout projects. Analyze tender documents, drawings, specifications, and other relevant information. Develop bill of quantities (BOQ) and cost plans to support tender submissions. Ensure estimates are aligned with client requirements and project objectives. Lead the preparation and submission of tender bids, ensuring all documentation is accurate and timely. Manage the tender process from start to finish, including reviewing subcontractor/supplier quotations and pricing. Ensure full compliance with tender requirements and highlight potential risks or opportunities. Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing. Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and subcontractors. Analyze and compare quotations, negotiate rates, and select appropriate subcontractors. Provide value engineering solutions and alternative options to clients to maximize project value. Continuously monitor project costs against estimates to ensure profitability. Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or timelines. Work closely with the project management and design teams to ensure that estimates and budgets are aligned with project goals. Attend client meetings to present and explain cost estimates and provide support during negotiations. Provide regular updates and reports on project cost status to senior management. Support post-tender negotiations with clients, ensuring agreement on final project costs. Prepare comprehensive handover documentation for project teams after contract award. Review and update historical cost data to improve future estimating accuracy.

Qualifications & Experience:

Degree Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. At least 5-10 years of experience as an Estimator, with a focus on commercial interior fitout projects. Excellent understanding of building contracts and tender processes.
