We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical
Estimation Engineer (Civil)
with
5 to 10 years of experience
to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for civil engineering projects, including infrastructure, residential, commercial, or industrial works. This role involves deep understanding of construction methods, material specifications, and project drawings.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze project drawings, specifications, and requirements to prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates.
Study tender documents, including scope of work, bill of quantities (BOQ), and contract terms.
Prepare quantity take-offs and cost estimation sheets for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services.
Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and project teams to gather pricing inputs.
Prepare and submit competitive bids and proposals within deadlines.
Review and update historical cost data for future reference and accuracy.
Evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotes to ensure cost-effectiveness.
Identify and assess project risks that may impact the cost or schedule.
Maintain estimation logs and proper documentation for audit and reference.
Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits when required.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Required).
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in estimation, tendering, or cost engineering.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel, and estimation software (e.g., Candy, CostX, or similar).
Strong knowledge of construction techniques, materials, and standards.
Familiarity with pricing databases and local market rates.
Excellent numerical, analytical, and negotiation skills.
Good communication and coordination skills.
Ability to meet tight deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
Experience with government and private-sector tenders.
Exposure to infrastructure and large-scale civil projects.
Membership in a professional engineering or estimating body is a plus.
