Position Overview
The Senior Dealer (FX & CFDs) will oversee the dealing desk operations, ensuring smooth execution of client trades, management of market and counterparty risk, and optimization of pricing strategies. This role requires strong market expertise, risk management skills, and deep knowledge of trading platforms (MT4/MT5, FIX API). The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity of execution, managing liquidity provider relationships, and mentoring junior dealers.
Key Responsibilities
1. Trading & Execution
Execute and monitor FX & CFD trades across multiple asset classes.
Manage A/B book execution, ensuring competitive pricing and minimal slippage.
Liaise with liquidity providers (LPs), prime brokers, and market counterparties to ensure optimal execution.
Oversee order routing, spread management, and trade reconciliation.
2. Risk & Exposure Management
Monitor real-time trading exposure, P&L, and risk positions.
Implement hedging strategies to mitigate risk.
Collaborate with the risk management team to define dealing policies and limits.
Adjust hedging strategies during volatile market conditions and news events.
3. Market Monitoring & Analysis
Track global FX and CFD markets to anticipate volatility.
Provide daily market updates and insights to management and clients (if required).
Monitor liquidity, pricing trends, and execution quality.
4. Compliance & Governance
Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements (MiFID II, ESMA, FCA, CySEC, DFSA, ASIC, etc.).
Maintain trade records for audits, reporting, and compliance reviews.
Work with compliance teams to ensure fair and transparent execution.
5. Leadership & Team Development
Supervise and mentor junior dealers on execution and risk management.
Provide training on trading platforms, risk systems, and market behavior.
Contribute to system enhancements by working with IT and product teams.
6. Key Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field.
5-8+ years of experience as a Dealer / Senior Dealer in FX & CFDs.
Strong knowledge of MT4/MT5 platforms, FIX API connectivity, and bridge systems.
Expertise in A/B book execution, hedging strategies, and liquidity management.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to manage exposure in real time.
In-depth understanding of FX, commodities, indices, and equity CFD markets.
Ability to work under pressure and during fast-moving market events.
7. Preferred Skills
Experience managing dealing desk operations for a regulated brokerage.
Knowledge of pricing engines, liquidity aggregation, and algo execution.
Familiarity with risk management tools, OMS/EMS systems, and market-making models.
Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
Excellent communication and decision-making skills.
