What Does a Senior Data Scientist Do at Al-Futtaim?
As a Senior Data Scientist, you will build and deploy high-impact machine learning models to support pricing optimization, predictive analytics, and customer segmentation. You'll use GenAI, time-series modeling, MLOps, and cloud-based platforms to design scalable and actionable solutions aligned with business goals.
What Are the Key Responsibilities?
- Develop and implement machine learning models for demand forecasting using ARIMA, LSTM, and XGBoost
- Design dynamic pricing models to maximize revenue using competitor data and demand signals
- Integrate GenAI to simulate future scenarios and enhance forecast accuracy
- Apply clustering, classification, and CLV models for customer analytics
- Use SHAP, LIME, and other explainability tools to improve model transparency
- Apply MLOps practices for continuous deployment, monitoring, and scaling
- Deploy models in Azure with Databricks, leveraging CI/CD and Spark pipelines
- Collaborate with product, sales, and marketing teams to ensure data-driven alignment with commercial objectives
- Analyze and track model performance using MAE, RMSE, and Rxc2xb2 metrics
- Support innovation and the identification of new AI use cases
What Skills Are Required for This Role?
Education & Experience:
- Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Machine Learning, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in data science, with at least 5 years in demand forecasting, pricing, or customer analytics
- Strong background in Retail, FMCG, or Automotive industries
- Deep hands-on experience with Python, SQL, Databricks, Spark, and cloud platforms like Azure or GCP
Specialized Competencies:
- Advanced expertise in LSTM, ARIMA, XGBoost, and GenAI
- Strong grasp of MLOps best practices for version control, CI/CD, and monitoring
- Familiarity with TensorFlow, PyTorch, and data security frameworks
- Ability to translate business needs into scalable AI-driven solutions
- Excellent stakeholder communication and strategic thinking
