Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Cost Estimator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for construction projects, ensuring that all aspects of the project are accounted for. Your expertise in construction estimating and cost control will be vital in supporting project management and ensuring profitability. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management, contracts, and pricing strategies.

Core Responsibilities

Prepare cost estimates

for marine projects such as shipbuilding, boat repairs, retrofitting, offshore structures, and maintenance works.

Analyze technical drawings, specifications, and tender documents

to determine material, labor, and equipment requirements.

Conduct quantity take-offs

and prepare bills of quantities (BOQ) for hull, machinery, electrical, outfitting, and other marine systems.

Evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations

to ensure competitiveness and compliance with project requirements.

Develop cost breakdown structures (CBS)

and maintain updated cost databases for marine materials and labor rates.

Identify potential risks and cost impacts

related to design changes, scope variations, and unforeseen technical challenges.

Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and production teams

to validate cost inputs and assumptions.

Prepare tender submissions, cost proposals, and financial reports

for clients and management.

Support contract negotiations

by providing accurate cost data and justifications.

Track and monitor project costs

versus estimates, highlighting variances to management.
Additional Duties

Maintain

updated market knowledge

of marine materials, equipment, and labor costs. Assist in

value engineering

and propose cost-saving alternatives. Ensure all estimates comply with

marine industry standards, classification society rules, and HSE requirements.

Prepare

post-project cost analysis

to improve future estimating accuracy.
