Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced

Senior Cost Accountant

to join our team in the construction sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and analyzing all project-related costs, ensuring accurate budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. The role involves close coordination with project teams, procurement, and finance departments to optimize cost control and support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor, analyze, and report project costs and variances on a regular basis. Prepare project cost reports, forecasts, and budgets; provide insight into deviations Should visit the project site and track the costs. Conduct cost-benefit analysis and value engineering evaluations. Collaborate with project managers, procurement, and site engineers to ensure cost efficiency. Track expenditures against budgets and prepare monthly cost reports and variance analysis. Oversee project cash flows and ensure alignment with planned disbursements. Support tender and estimation teams by providing cost data and analysis for bids. Analyze subcontractor and supplier costs, identify cost-saving opportunities. Assist in developing and maintaining cost accounting systems and procedures. Support external and internal audits by providing relevant cost and project data. Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and accounting standards. Participate in the preparation of financial statements related to construction projects.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master's is a plus). Professional certification such as CMA, CPA, or equivalent is preferred. 5-8 years of cost accounting experience, with a minimum of 3 years in the

construction industry

. Solid understanding of construction project accounting, budgeting, and cost control. Proficiency in ERP systems (such as SAP, Oracle, Build Smart or similar) and MS Excel. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.

Experience with

contracting and project-based accounting in UAE

. Knowledge of

IFRS and cost control techniques

specific to construction. Exposure to

MEP and civil construction costing
