The Senior Compensation & Payroll Specialist
is responsible for supporting compensation administration and leading payroll execution activities, ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely payroll operations. The role focuses on hands-on payroll management and compensation support, working closely with HR, Finance, and Operations to maintain data integrity and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
Compensation Support
Support the maintenance of existing salary structures, job grades, and pay bands.
Participate in annual compensation activities such as salary reviews, promotions, adjustments, and bonus payouts.
Assist with compensation benchmarking exercises and prepare supporting analyses and reports.
Payroll Management & Execution (Core Focus)
Manage the full payroll cycle for 500+ employees, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with internal controls.
Operate, maintain, and optimize payroll processes using Excel and HR systems.
Administer payroll additions and deductions, including shift schedules, overtime calculations, allowances, and attendance-based payroll inputs.
Prepare, review, and validate payroll reports, reconciliations, and variance analyses; proactively investigate and resolve discrepancies.
Maintain accurate payroll records in line with labor laws, tax regulations, and statutory requirements.
Partner closely with HR, Finance, and Operations to ensure payroll data accuracy (new hires, terminations, salary changes, benefits, deductions, etc.).
Develop and maintain payroll templates, trackers, dashboards, and databases to enhance efficiency and reporting.
Identify opportunities for payroll process improvements and support system upgrades, testing, and enhancements.
Requirements
Must-Have Qualifications
Minimum 4-5 years of payroll experience.
Strong Excel skills, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and lookups.
Experience managing payroll for large employee populations.
High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Accounting background (education or professional experience preferred).
Experience with HR or payroll systems.
Exposure to payroll audits and compliance reporting.
