Job Overview

This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior Technician/ Diagnosing Technician at Carsnow Auto Service located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The Senior Technician/ Diagnosing Technician will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing various automotive issues. Day-to-day tasks will include conducting thorough inspections, performing diagnostic tests, identifying mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults, and ensuring all repairs are performed to the highest quality standards. Technicians will also need to communicate effectively with the service advisor team and customers, maintain accurate records of all work performed, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Duties

Perform advanced diagnostics and fault finding using OEM diagnostic tools (e.g. ISTA, Xentry, ODIS, Pathfinder, Autel, Launch etc). Accurately interpret fault codes, wiring diagrams, and technical bulletins to identify root causes. Execute complex repairs on engines, transmissions, braking systems, suspension, and electrical systems. Conduct software updates, control unit programming, and online adaptations as per brand standards. Carry out pre-delivery inspections (PDI) and final quality checks to ensure premium service levels. Guide, support, and mentor junior technicians on diagnostic and repair procedures. Collaborate with the workshop controller and service advisors to ensure job efficiency and accuracy. Review job cards, recommend parts, and ensure correct labor coding and documentation. Explain technical findings clearly to the service team or customers when needed. Participate in customer test drives to validate issues or confirm successful repairs. Maintain diagnostic tools and equipment, ensuring proper calibration and condition. Keep the workstation clean and follow safety and housekeeping procedures. Attend regular brand training to stay up-to-date with new models and technologies.

Qualifications

Experience in conducting thorough vehicle inspections and diagnostic tests Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and electronic problems Strong attention to detail and ability to perform high-quality repairs Effective communication skills for interacting with service advisors and customers Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations in the automotive industry Ability to work independently as well as part of a team IT|/Diploma in Autombile/Mechanical engineering certification or equivalent technical qualification is a plus Minimum of 5 years of experience in an automotive technician role is preferred
