As a Senior Automotive Diagnostic Technician at Master Coast Auto Garage, you will lead all vehicle troubleshooting activities mechanical, electrical, and electronic using advanced scan tools and inspection equipment. You'll mentor junior technicians, ensure rapid fault resolution, and uphold our commitment to top-tier service quality.
Key Responsibilities
Advanced Diagnostics:
Lead in-depth fault finding on engines, transmissions, ABS/airbag systems, hybrid/electric drivetrains, and vehicle networks
Tool Mastery:
Operate and maintain OEM and aftermarket scan tools, oscilloscopes, waveform analyzers, and data-logging software.
Problem Resolution:
Develop and implement effective repair plans; verify fixes through road-testing and real-time data monitoring.
Mentorship & Training:
Coach junior diagnostic technicians and apprentices; conduct regular skill-share sessions and on-the-job training.
Quality Control:
Review diagnostic reports, ensure accurate documentation, and sign off on all diagnostic work before release.
Customer Interaction:
Explain complex issues and repair options in clear, everyday language; provide time and cost estimates.
Process Improvement:
Identify recurring faults and suggest process or tooling upgrades to reduce return visits.
Safety & Compliance:
Adhere to workshop safety protocols and environmental regulations when handling refrigerants, batteries, and high-voltage systems.
Skills & Competencies
Expert understanding of vehicle electronics, OBD-II protocols, sensor/actuator operation, and ECU programming.
Proficiency with diagnostic software and data-analysis tools.
Strong mechanical aptitude: ability to read wiring diagrams, hydraulic and vacuum schematics.
Excellent leadership and communication skills--both with team members and customers.
Meticulous attention to detail and a methodical approach to troubleshooting.
Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced workshop environment.
Qualifications & Experience
Education:
Diploma or higher in Automotive Technology, Mechatronics, or Electrical Engineering.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years in automotive diagnostics; at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.
Certifications:
UAE Driving License
Manufacturer-specific diagnostic training (BMW, Mercedes, Toyota, etc.) or recognized credentials (ASE L1 preferred).
