We are seeking an experienced

Senior Accountant

with a strong background in

civil construction

to manage and oversee the financial activities of our construction projects. This role requires expertise in project accounting, cost analysis, and financial reporting, with a deep understanding of construction-specific financial practices and controls.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure accurate and timely recording of all accounting transactions in compliance with applicable accounting standards and construction accounting principles. Oversee daily accounting operations including General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Asset Accounting across all related entities. Maintain a thorough understanding of bank guarantees and bank facility management, ensuring compliance and accurate record-keeping. Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring the timely finalization of accounts and adherence to statutory requirements. Supervise and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement. Prepare and analyze monthly Management Information System (MIS) reports, project budgets, and detailed cost reports for ongoing and completed construction projects. Coordinate with external auditors and ensure comprehensive documentation and audit readiness. Work closely with project managers and contract administrators to address financial aspects of project execution, including billing, subcontractor payments, and change orders. Compile and present financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports, to summarize the current financial position of the company.

Qualifications:

Master's degree in accounting, Financial Management, or a related discipline (M.Com or equivalent preferred). 5-7 years of progressive experience in project or construction accounting, preferably in the civil construction sector. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and strong analytical capabilities for financial modeling and data interpretation. Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Tally, with a clear understanding of accounting and procurement workflows. Proven leadership and team management experience, with the ability to delegate effectively and meet tight deadlines. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate across departments. Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of independently managing workload and priorities.
