Job Title:

Security Guard / Shift-based

Job Summary:

To ensure the safety and security of all university students, staff, visitors, and property. The Security Officer will maintain a visible presence, respond to incidents, and help enforce campus regulations to create a safe and supportive learning environment. The ideal candidate will have strong observational skills, a professional demeanor, and the ability to respond effectively in emergency situations.

Key Responsibilities:

Patrol university buildings and grounds regularly to deter unauthorized activity and ensure a safe environment. Monitor surveillance systems (CCTV) and security alarms, and respond promptly to any alerts or suspicious behavior. Control access to campus facilities and provide visitor registration support. Respond to emergencies, including medical incidents, fire alarms, and threats; coordinate with local emergency services as needed. Enforce university rules and regulations in a respectful, lawful, and non-confrontational manner. Assist in the investigation and documentation of incidents, preparing clear and accurate reports. Support university events by managing crowd control, access points, and emergency preparedness. Collaborate with university staff, student services, and law enforcement agencies when required. Conduct safety checks and risk assessments as directed. Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons. Patrol assigned premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates. Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences. Respond to alarms and investigate disturbances. Provide assistance to customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner. Operate security systems and emergency equipment as needed. Enforce company rules and regulations to maintain order and ensure safety. Coordinate with emergency services (police, fire, EMS) when necessary.

Qualifications:

Prior experience in a security, military, or law enforcement role.

Desirable:

Certification in first aid, conflict resolution, or crisis management. Knowledge of GDPR and data privacy regulations. Experience working in a multicultural or academic environment. Good verbal and written communication skills in [English / local language]. Ability to remain calm and act quickly in emergencies. Familiarity with using CCTV and security monitoring equipment. Physically fit and able to work shifts, including nights and weekends. Must possess a valid security license/certification (as required by local law).

Working Conditions:

May include evening, night, weekend, or holiday shifts. Work may be indoors or outdoors depending on the assignment. Must be able to work in all weather conditions.

Pay: AED1,500.00 - AED2,000.00 per month
