The Salad Maker is responsible for preparing fresh and appetizing salad items, desserts, and gelatin for patient meals according to established menus and departmental standards. This role ensures all work is completed in a hygienic and organized manner, adhering to food safety and quality protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare salads, desserts, gelatin, and other related items based on daily menus and assigned par levels.
Gather necessary produce items, canned fruits, and ingredients for daily use, and store them properly in the assigned refrigerator.
Ensure accurate counts for salad and dessert items by consulting the diet office.
Maintain proper food storage temperatures and promptly refrigerate prepared items.
Utilize appropriate portion sizes according to departmental standards.
Maintain personal hygiene and neatness in line with departmental policies.
Use gloves, hair restraints, aprons, towels, and other sanitation equipment as needed.
Follow cleaning protocols, including the use of bleach and sanitation buckets, to ensure work areas are kept clean.
Report to work regularly and on time.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in food preparation or related field is preferred.
Knowledge of food safety standards and practices.
Ability to follow recipes and established procedures accurately.
Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
Work Conditions:
May require standing for extended periods.
Flexible hours depending on the needs of the department.
