VAM Systems is currently looking for Release Deployment Expert for our UAE operations with the following skillsets & terms and conditions:

Qualifications - Required education, minimum work years' experience

. Minimum 8-12 years of experience in a Technical / Managerial role in software lifecycle management in general, and in release and deployment management in particular . Experience managing Release and Deployments . Relevant experience with digital and business transformation . Demonstrated experience with technology design and implementation

Technical skills

Required: Essential skills

. ITIL knowledge . Excellent knowledge and understanding of Release Management and Deployment Process . Vast experience working with CI/CD pipelines, deployment strategies, infrastructure-as-code, pro-active monitoring, self-healing practices and advanced automation . Cloud-native experience with service providers such as Azure and AWS, working in PaaS, FaaS and IaaS . Understanding of Mobile web (adaptive, responsive), Progressive Web App, mobile app (native, hybrid), APIs (RESTful/OData/JSON) and API design . Able to drive team collaboration and to lead and manage multiple teams . Able to adapt to change and effectively manage and communicate change to stakeholders while driving business targets . Possesses a strong orientation towards communicating for impact in a timely manner, demonstrating foresight, forethought, planning for operational efficiency as well as effectively managing and identifying potential risks to the business . Able to work with multidisciplinary and multicultural teams . Able to show assertiveness and influence decisions based on factual information . Key deliverables:

D1 - Definition of End-to-End Release Deployment plans D2 - Definition of release roadmap D3 - Establishment of KPIs to measure the performance of the Program deployments

Responsibilities:

. Plans, prioritizes and manages all activities of releases management and deployment . Assist the Release Manager and the development team members in planning each release . Ensure that the organization's release controls are documented and well understood by development Teams and Program Support Teams . Ensure that the architecture and infrastructure on which the application will be deployed are robust and stable . Ensure that a detailed deployment plan has been documented along with a backout plan should anything go wrong during deployment . Coordinate with the multiple partner teams and BAU Release Teams to ensure that communications to all stakeholders have been properly prepared and reviewed . Ensure the product has been correctly and completely integrated across the program . Validate that the product has been correctly packaged before deployment and ensure that all release controls have been satisfied . Organise the deployment resources and plan for each cutover. . Support the deployments by facilitating communication channels and routes of escalation. . Own the deployment plan, ensuring every task is accounted for and has an owner. . Ensure control and engagement through meetings, as appropriate. . Document processes and changes as required. . Contribute to ongoing improvements . Provide updates to relevant stakeholders on deployment status. . Conduct a release retrospective with all the development team members that participated in the program to improve the release process and increase program productivity and product quality . Ensure Produces Deployment, Run Books and Implementation Plans . Communicates release details and schedule to the teams as required . Works with release manager and engineers to understand the impacts of branches and code merges . Maintains the release schedule for all core services and ensures alignment with key partners and vendors . Leads and co-ordinates the Go-Live activities including the execution of the deployment plans and checklists . Maintains a release repository and manages key information such as build and release procedures, dependencies, and notification lists . Deals with service roll-out planning including the method of deployment . Coordinates release documentation and communications, including training, customer, service management and technical release notes . Plans the deployment in conjunction with the IT Change Management and Configuration Management . Provides technical and application guidance and support throughout the release process, including known errors and workarounds . Manages vendors' professional services and support based on business needs and the annual commercial roadmap to ensure financial coverage . Conducts Release Readiness reviews, Milestones Reviews, and Business Go/No-Go reviews

The role belongs to the Technology area.

The key purpose of the role is to have someone accountable for Release Management while adopting a holistic view with regards to release changes and ensuring thereby that all release aspects, both technical and non-technical are considered.

The role entails ensuring that standardized methods and procedures are followed for the efficient and prompt handling of all application software/configuration changes part of the Greenfield Solution. It also entails the coordination of efforts aimed at resolving critical and strategic issues related to release and deployment management.

The person taking on the role is expected to understand impact assessments of all the changes directly or indirectly impacting the various releases, to improve agility for effective continuous delivery, to engage and manage the relevant skill groups / vendors and to independently resolve any issues that may arise to ensure that Greenfield releases are delivered on time, on budget and as per the predefined quality criteria.

The role requires a high degree of interaction with various teams within the organization as well as 3rd party vendors. Strong collaboration skills are therefore key to be successful in this role.

The position that is sought will be responsible for:

(1) Deployment Manager will be tasked with owning the planning and delivery of releases deployments as part of a larger transformation program

(2) Ensuring the adoption of best practices in Release Management to support and enhance release and deployment processes.

(3) Manage the full deployment process to include organization of cutover tasks and assigning ownership, providing clear and transparent communication across all stakeholders and teams

(4) Formulating and managing the function and activities of planning, organizing, controlling and developing all release processes needed for regular production deployment cycles.
