Job Description

A QHSE Officer (Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment Officer) in a food catering context plays a critical role in ensuring that the catering service operates in a way that adheres to health, safety, and environmental standards while also maintaining high-quality standards. They ensure that the catering service is compliant with all relevant laws and regulations regarding food safety, workplace safety, and environmental impact.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and maintain food safety systems like HACCP to ensure compliance with internal policies, local regulations, and international standards. Conduct internal audits and inspections of food production, storage, and service areas, including equipment and processes, to identify and correct non-compliance issues. Monitor and verify proper food handling, storage, labeling, and temperature control to prevent contamination and ensure food quality. Manage and report on Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA). Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to minimize hazards in the workplace. Develop and implement safety procedures, including emergency response plans. Investigate all incidents, such as accidents or foodborne illness outbreaks, to determine the root cause and take appropriate action. Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations. Provide comprehensive training to staff on all aspects of food hygiene, personal safety, and company-specific safety procedures. Conduct regular safety meetings and awareness campaigns to promote a strong safety culture. Ensure staff receive necessary certifications, such as the ADAFCA food handler examination. Maintain accurate records of inspections, training, and incidents, and prepare reports for management. Ensure the company meets environmental regulations and standards. Manage and control all documentation related to QHSE measures. Act as a liaison with external bodies, such as government authorities and third-party auditors during inspections.
Skills and Qualifications

2 - 3 yrs working experience in catering industry Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Problem-solving and strong analytical thinking abilities. Excellent planning, organizing, and report writing skills. Ability to train and motivate staff on safety and hygiene practices. Proficiency in computer skills, including MS Office.
