Job Summary:



The Purchaser is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring products and supplies for the supermarket, ensuring product availability, competitive pricing, and strong supplier relationships.

The role involves monitoring stock levels, maintaining supplier records, and evaluating the performance of both suppliers and purchased goods.

Key Responsibilities:



- Identify and select reliable suppliers and vendors based on quality, cost, delivery, and service.

- Maintain a comprehensive supplier database, including contact details such as emails and phone numbers.

- Classify suppliers based on performance, delivery efficiency, and reliability.

- Negotiate prices, shelf rental fees, promotional offers, and the introduction of new products.

- Evaluate the performance of purchased items, planning promotions, discounts, or returns as needed.

- Monitor and maintain minimum stock levels for all items in both distribution centers and retail outlets.

- Forecast demand and place timely orders to avoid overstocking or stockouts.

- Track and analyze market trends to optimize purchasing strategies.

- Maintain accurate records of all inquiries, discussions, negotiations, and supplier agreements.

- Collaborate with receiving, warehouse, and accounting teams to ensure timely and accurate deliveries and payments.

- Report procurement data and supplier performance to higher management on a periodic basis.

- Ensure all purchases comply with company policies, quality standards, and budget constraints.

- Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.

Qualifications and Skills:



- Proven experience as a purchaser, buyer, or procurement officer in a retail or supermarket setting.

- Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.

- Excellent organizational and record-keeping abilities.

- Knowledge of supply chain procedures and inventory control.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement software (e.g., ERP systems).

- Analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.

- High attention to detail and ability to multitask

Education and Experience:



- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.

- Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience in retail or supermarket procurement

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: AED3,500.00 - AED4,200.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

Abu Dhabi: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
