Key Roles and Responsibilities

1.

Procurement Planning & Strategy

Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with project timelines and company objectives. Forecast material requirements based on project needs and production schedules. Identify and evaluate suppliers for aluminum profiles, glass sheets, hardware, sealants, fasteners, and accessories.

Vendor Management

Source, assess, and qualify new suppliers to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery. Maintain strong relationships with approved vendors and negotiate long-term contracts or rate agreements. Conduct vendor performance reviews (quality, delivery timelines, compliance).

Material Purchasing

Raise purchase orders (POs) based on approved requisitions from project or production teams. Ensure correct specifications (thickness, grade, finish, coating, dimensions) are communicated in POs for aluminum and glass items. Track orders to ensure timely delivery and manage logistics coordination.
4.

Cost Control & Budgeting

Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery conditions to minimize procurement costs. Maintain procurement within allocated project or department budgets. Identify opportunities for cost savings through alternative sourcing or bulk purchasing.
5.

Inventory Management

Coordinate with warehouse/store to monitor stock levels and re-order points. Avoid overstocking or understocking of critical items to reduce waste and delays. Assist in planning just-in-time (JIT) deliveries for large-scale glass or aluminum profiles.
6.

Quality Assurance

Ensure purchased materials meet required standards, specifications, and industry norms (e.g., ASTM, BS, EN standards for glass and aluminum). Coordinate with QA/QC and project teams for inspection and approval of incoming materials.
7.

Documentation & Compliance

Maintain accurate procurement records, contracts, and supplier documentation. Ensure compliance with import/export regulations, customs clearance (for imported glass or aluminum), and company policies. Prepare and present regular procurement reports to management.
8.

Coordination with Project & Production Teams

Liaise with site engineers, project managers, and production heads to align procurement with execution needs. Address and resolve issues related to delays, non-conformance, or supply chain disruptions quickly.
