Protection Engineer with valid Kahramaa LOA approval

for a

3-month contractual assignment

in

Doha, Qatar

. The role involves protection system engineering, relay testing, commissioning, and fault analysis within an industrial / utility environment, ensuring full compliance with

Kahramaa, IEC, and IEEE standards

.

Job Title:

Protection Engineer with valid Kahramaa LOA approval

Location: Doha, Qatar and RLIC
Duration: 3 Months (Extendable)

Key Responsibilities

Execute

protection relay testing, commissioning, and configuration

as per Kahramaa standards Review and validate

protection coordination studies and relay settings

Perform

fault analysis

and evaluate relay performance and disturbance records Support

substation protection schemes

(HV/MV/LV) Coordinate with operations, maintenance, and client engineering teams Ensure all activities comply with

Kahramaa, RLIC, and HSE regulations

Prepare technical reports, test results, and commissioning documentation Participate in shutdowns, energization, and emergency restoration activities

Mandatory Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in

Electrical Engineering

Minimum

5-8 years

of experience in power system protection

Valid Kahramaa LOA (Letter of Authorization) - Mandatory

Proven experience with

numerical relays

(ABB, Siemens, Schneider, GE, SEL, etc.) Hands-on experience with

OMICRON or equivalent relay test kits

Strong knowledge of

IEC, IEEE, and Kahramaa protection standards

Prior experience in

utilities, substations, industrial plants, or oil & gas projects
