Our client a global technology leader is seeking a

skilled Protection Engineer

to join their dynamic electrical engineering team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in

line differential

and

transformer differential protection schemes

, and a solid understanding of modern protection relays and substation automation systems.
KM (Kahramaa) approval will be considered a

significant advantage

.

Job Title: Protection Engineer - Line & Transformer Differential (KM Approved Preferred)
Location: Doha, Qatar
Employment Type: Full-Time Contract (12 months) (Extendable)
Salary: 13,000 QAR per month

Key Responsibilities

Design, configure, and test

protection schemes

for transmission and distribution systems. Perform

relay settings coordination

,

fault analysis

, and

system protection studies

. Implement and commission

line differential

and

transformer differential protection systems

using numerical relays. Conduct

end-to-end testing

, relay logic verification, and protection performance evaluations. Prepare detailed

technical documentation

, reports, and protection drawings. Coordinate with clients, contractors, and utility authorities (especially

Kahramaa

) for protection scheme approvals and inspections. Support maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrades of existing protection systems.

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor's Degree in

Electrical or Power Engineering

Minimum

5+ years of experience

in

protection engineering

, with proven work on

line and transformer differential protection

. Strong knowledge of

relay manufacturers

such as

Siemens.

Hands-on experience with

relay configuration and testing tools

(e.g., Omicron, Doble, or Megger). Familiar with

IEC 61850

,

SCADA integration

, and

protection coordination

principles.

KM (Kahramaa) approval

is

highly desirable

. Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
