Overview:

Project engineers play a crucial role in the success of construction projects in Dubai. They act as a bridge between design and execution, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to specifications. This job description outlines the typical responsibilities and qualifications for a project engineer position in a Dubai construction company.

Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Scheduling:

Develop and maintain project schedules using Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar software. Identify and manage project risks and mitigation strategies. Monitor project progress and identify potential delays or issues. Update stakeholders on project status and progress regularly.

Technical Expertise:

Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents. Conduct site inspections and identify potential quality issues. Oversee the implementation of construction methods and procedures. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other technical disciplines.

Cost Management:

Prepare and track project budgets. Identify and manage cost-saving opportunities. Analyze and approve subcontractor invoices and payments. Ensure project is completed within budget constraints.

Contract Management:

Understand and comply with relevant construction contracts and regulations. Manage communication with clients, consultants, and subcontractors. Resolve contractual disputes and ensure adherence to contract terms.

Safety and Quality:

Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures on site. Conduct safety inspections and identify potential hazards. Ensure construction activities comply with quality standards. Manage and document quality control procedures.

Communication and Collaboration:

Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels. Participate in project meetings and presentations. Manage and lead project teams effectively. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.

Qualifications:

Must have a High-Rise Building Experienced (30 Floors - Above). Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Minimum 6 years of experience in construction projects, preferably in Dubai. Proficiency in project management software (Primavera P6, MS Project). Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Experience in cost management and contract administration is a plus. Fluency in English and Arabic is a significant advantage.
