Program Specialist (Valuable Girl), Egypt Purpose of the Job This position provides technical, logistical, and administrative support, coordination, and organization as necessary to aid the implementation of the developmental programs of Coptic Orphans. Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Support the Program Manager by reporting and following up on various program initiatives
Prepare, compile and translate periodic and ad-hoc technical reports. Collect data related to new initiatives design to ensure proper implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the program and its initiatives
Maintain and organize program data on the Coptic Orphans drive, and keep hard copy files as appropriate
Provide communications department and senior management with information for annual reports, news releases, and other information such as success stories, challenges, needs, updates, and statistics
Record and update the program manual and printed materials, such as reference manuals to reflect changes and directions from Program Management
Provide administrative and logistical support to the program, such as correspondence to external partners, setting meeting agenda and taking minutes, arranging and preparing for training and other events such as new cycle orientation, quarterly meetings, periodic training workshops, etc.
In cooperation with the training and development department, provide feedback, administer pre/ post-training evaluation and assist in creating program training material
Assist the program manager in monitoring and reporting on program budgets and costs
Carry out research and assist in program planning, analysis, and reporting for management
Schedule program-related orientations for new hires and visit arrangements
Perform other relevant tasks and functions as required by the direct manager
Supervisory Responsibilities None. Required Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills
BA in Human Development or closely related field. ex. Psychology, Education, Sociology, etc.,
Master's degree in social sciences is a plus
Proven experience of no less than 3 years in a similar field.
Experience in implementing monitoring and evaluation tools for programs' development (log frames, success indicators, focus groups, data retrieving...etc.) and methodologies such as Results-Based Management.
Experience in working on development programs and/or volunteering with community development associations.
Experience in developing and curating training material and curriculum for children education.
Good understanding of the root causes of discrimination against girls and women
Outstanding communication within the organization as well as external partners or vendors
Detail-oriented
Problem-solving skills
Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal direction, and work well as part of a team
Excellent command of the English language, written and spoken
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Fiscal Responsibilities (budgeting responsibilities, approval privileges on purchase orders and check requests, reporting and auditing functions) Limited to review and assistance with relevant expense reports as directed. Extent of Public Contact (within and outside the organization)
Regular daily contact with staff in Cairo Office, field staff, and HQ office
Frequent contacts with external partners such as volunteer reps, Community Development Associations (CDA's), vendors and other organizations
Working Conditions and Environment (i.e., necessary travel, unusual work hours, etc.)
Typical office environment such as walking, sitting, typing, using office equipment, and occasional lifting of boxes or luggage during travel
Travel throughout Egypt may reach as much as 30% of the time
Working out of the official hours and on weekends may be required
