What Does a Product Owner - Compliance Applications Do?
As a Compliance Product Owner, you will serve as the single point of contact for all compliance-related requirements across a portfolio of data-driven applications. You will define and prioritize requirements, manage delivery, and ensure smooth stakeholder alignment, with the ultimate goal of enhancing compliance oversight and functionality.
What Are the Key Responsibilities?
- Act as the product owner for multiple compliance-related applications
- Define detailed business requirements, including business requirement documents and user stories
- Maintain and prioritize the product backlog based on business needs and strategic direction
- Lead a team responsible for product support, enhancements, and delivery coordination
- Collaborate with business sponsors to align on requirements and prioritize initiatives
- Manage release cycles and user communications for each deployment
- Conduct and sign off on UAT in coordination with end users
- Monitor and track OKRs for each compliance application
- Define and communicate the product roadmap in collaboration with the Head of Product
- Coordinate with upstream system owners for system integrations and data flow dependencies
What Skills Are Needed for This Role?
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline
Experience:
- Several years of experience in large banking or financial institutions
- Proven track record in product ownership or business analysis for compliance-related IT applications
- Experience managing teams and delivering large-scale software projects
Professional Skills:
- Strong knowledge of compliance-related systems and regulatory reporting
- Proficient in Jira for agile delivery management
- Strong documentation and presentation skills using PowerPoint and Excel
- Ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into actionable system deliverables
- Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills
- Detail-oriented with excellent planning and prioritization abilities
