The Planning Engineer will be responsible for preparing, updating, and controlling the overall project schedule for all interior fit-out works.
This includes material procurement monitoring, manpower planning, site progress tracking, risk analysis, and supporting project teams to ensure timely delivery as per client, consultant, and authority requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Planning & Scheduling
- Prepare baseline project schedules (Primavera P6 / MS Projects) covering all design, procurement, authority approvals, production, and site activities. - Break down project scope into WBS aligned with i2D Interiors processes. - Develop micro-level programs for site teams (weekly & daily programs). - Integrate procurement schedules, submittal logs, and shop drawing delivery plans into the master schedule.
2. Progress Monitoring & Reporting
- Track daily, weekly & monthly progress vs. the approved baseline. - Update actual progress, delays, productivity, and critical path changes. - Prepare weekly & monthly reports (S-curve, look-ahead, dashboards, delay logs, risk logs). - Coordinate with QS team for cost-time impact and variation implications.
3. Procurement & Subcontractor Coordination
- Prepare project-specific procurement schedules covering long-lead items. - Track LPO issuance, production status, delivery timelines & material approvals. - Highlight risks arising from procurement delays and propose recovery actions.
4. Authority & Design Coordination
- Plan timelines for authority submissions (DCD, DDA, DM, TECOM, etc.). - Coordinate with the Design Team to ensure timely shop drawing and material approvals. - Maintain logs for submittals, approvals, RFIs, inspections, and close-out documentation.
5. Site Coordination & Sequencing
- Work with Site Engineers, MEP team, and subcontractors to ensure alignment with the master program. - Identify clashes and prepare recovery plans and revised schedules.
6. Delay Analysis & Claims Support
- Identify delays and prepare delay impact reports. - Support QS team with claims and variation justifications.
7.
Handover & Close-Out Planning
- Prepare commissioning, snagging, de-snagging, and handover schedules. - Track As-Built drawings, O&M; manuals, warranties, and test reports.
