The PDI Specialist is responsible for inspecting and servicing new vehicles, ensuring they are in salable condition. Key responsibilities include:
Inspecting vehicles for obvious damage and missing major components.
Checking for loose or misaligned items such as trim, doors, and hardware.
Performing repairs and replacements with efficiency and accuracy.
Documenting warranty repairs and ensuring they are properly charged.
Testing steering, brakes, transmission, and engine operation.
Activating power equipment like electric windows, seats, radio, horn, lights, and directional signals.
Inspecting surfaces for minor chips and scratches in paint.
Touching up imperfections using brush applicator and factory-supplied matching paint.
Installing optional equipment specified by the customer or dealer.
Installing standard components and pouring antifreeze into the radiator.
Tuning the engine using technicians' tools and test equipment.
Installing or repairing major mechanical, hydraulic, or electromechanical equipment.
Washing and polishing the exterior of vehicles.
