Star International School Mirdif is a bespoke British Curriculum School situated in the Mirdif Community of Dubai offering EYFS, Primary and Secondary Education. We are looking to appoint a PA to the Principal who has the enthusiasm, commitment, and energy needed to work in a rapidly growing and improving school. The role is for an immediate start.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree preferred
  • Diploma in Office Management / Secretarial Practice desirable
  • Experience of working as a secretary or PA
  • Personnel / Customer relations experience
  • Previous experience of working in an educational environment preferred

Purpose of the Job

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Undertake confidential secretarial, administrative and clerical duties relating to all aspects of the Principal\xe2\x80\x99s work, including management of the diary, correspondence and records.
  • Be responsible for the Principal\xe2\x80\x99s administrative filing, including confidential personnel files.
  • Manage hospitality for meetings, events and functions throughout the year.
  • Receive and appropriately deal with all incoming electronic communications to the school\xe2\x80\x99s general email, using own judgement to re-direct emails to the appropriate staff member or department.
  • Establish and maintain excellent relationships with pupils, parents, staff and other professionals.
  • Ensure all visitors to the school are greeted respectfully and professionally and signed in appropriately.
  • Answer the telephone in a pleasant, informed manner, dealing with queries and taking messages.
  • Check the school email account and respond to queries as and when required.
  • Provide general administrative support to school staff, such as preparing letters.
  • Prepare routine correspondence, memoranda, reports, records and bulletins.
  • Update records and databases when information has changed.
  • Assist with the administration and organisation of school photos.
  • Arrange interviews and assessments with prospective families.
Professional Responsibilities
  • Promote the school vision, aims and objectives.
  • Comply with all school policies and procedures relating to child protection, security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to the appropriate person.
  • Be aware of and support differences and ensure equal opportunities for all.
  • Undertake professional development activities to enhance personal development and job performance, through the provision of training or mentoring.
  • Attend relevant school meetings, as well as any other meetings associated with this role.
  • Arrive punctually, be prepared for each school day and maintain regular attendance.

The above duties are not exhaustive and the post holder may be required to undertake additional tasks, roles and responsibilities as may be reasonably requested of them by the Principal. This may involve working outside regular contractual hours or during school holidays, for which payment or time off in lieu will be given
