Job Description

Job Summary:
The Officer - Placement, Corporate & Alumni Relations plays a key role in facilitating successful career opportunities for students through active coordination with corporate partners and alumni. This role serves as a bridge between the institution, students, recruiters, and alumni to foster meaningful engagement and support career development initiatives. The position requires strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Placement Coordination
Assist in planning and executing campus placement drives, internships, and live industry projects.
Coordinate with recruiters for scheduling pre-placement talks (PPTs), interviews, tests, and follow-ups.
Maintain an up-to-date database of student resumes and profiles.
Track and report placement statistics, prepare dashboards, and placement-related analytics.
Communicate placement processes and updates to students and relevant stakeholders.
2. Corporate Engagement
Support efforts to onboard new recruiters for placements and internships.
Maintain a comprehensive corporate database, engagement tracker, and follow-up schedules.
Coordinate post-placement feedback from companies and explore repeat opportunities.
Assist in organizing corporate outreach events like conclaves, webinars, seminars, and industry visits.
3. Alumni Relations
Update and manage alumni records and contact databases.
Support alumni engagement activities including reunions, guest lectures, mentoring sessions, etc.
Collect and curate alumni success stories, testimonials, and updates for promotional use.
Coordinate alumni communications through newsletters, emails, and social media channels.
4. Student Support & Communication
Guide students in resume preparation, interview readiness, and career planning (with inputs from mentors/faculty).
Respond to student queries regarding placements and internships.
Organize mock interviews, career counseling, and skill-building workshops in coordination with internal/external trainers.
5. Administrative & Reporting
Maintain accurate records of placement offers, acceptance, and joining details.
Prepare periodic internal and external reports, including for accreditation and audits.
Ensure compliance with institutional and regulatory documentation requirements.
Key Skills & Competencies:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong coordination and event management abilities
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); knowledge of CRM or ERP systems is an advantage
Ability to handle multiple stakeholders - students, recruiters, alumni, and faculty
Good data handling, reporting, and analytical skills
Knowledge of career services best practices and current industry trends
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, HR, Communications, or related field (Master's preferred)
2-5 years of experience in placement coordination, corporate relations, or alumni engagement
Experience in the education or training sector is preferred
