Job Title Mining Geologist
Description
We are seeking Mining Geologist to help us grow our Mining Practice. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of experience and the ability to help build and lead the practice. You must have an entrepreneurial attitude and enthusiasm for supporting business development and technical efforts to expand ADNOC market share. This position will support the creation and implementation of new strategies by providing strategic solutions to most complex problems.
ADNOC aim to address their new ventures and most challenging problems involving the natural resources, and civil infrastructure.
Job Specific Accountabilities
The responsibilities for this position include:
Managing the operation and maintenance of groundwater, salt brines and sabkha in addition to ore minerals, remediation and economic geology
Collecting rock, deposits and water samples and/or using field instruments to monitor conditions (rocks, deposits, groundwater, stormwater, surface water, soil vapor, soil/sediment, ..etc)
Supporting and participating in site characterization investigations including rocks investigations, monitoring well drilling and installation, soil and groundwater sampling, and hydraulic testing events
Developing and updating site maps
Documenting, managing, and analyzing environmental data to develop graphical summaries and reports using equivalent software
Ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements for fieldwork
Overseeing work performed by subcontractors, to ensure work is completed in accordance with work plans, design drawings, specifications, and/or client expectations
Interfacing with clients
Required Education and Skills:
An associate degree or a bachelor's degree in geology, science, geosciences, hydrogeology, or a related field
Foundational knowledge of hydrogeology especially for sabkha and salt brines
Strong organizational skills and the ability to ensure that routine tasks are completed on schedule
Capable of providing thorough and accurate records of field activities through the use of forms and daily logs
Previous experience with data evaluation and technical report preparation
Clear communication skills with technical and non-technical topics through writing, presentations, and verbal methods to a variety of audiences
Proficiency in working both independently and in project teams
Desired Education and Skills:
Mechanical aptitude and experience maintaining and troubleshooting mechanical systems
Prior work experience with an mining and engineering firm
Basic understanding of level survey methods (rod & level, laser level, total station)
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
At least 10 years of mining and geological, minerals consulting experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
10 years of mining and consulting experience. (preferred)
Thorough knowledge and experience with local regulations, and good relationships with regulators. (required)
Project management certification, business development training, and leadership training. (preferred)
Regional visibility through involvement in professional associations or trade organizations. (preferred)
Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to mining facilities as needed. (required)

Data Management:
Performs the QA/QC of technical data, interpreted and/or processed by the service companies.
Supports senior in data management activities including organizing and archiving of geological data and interpretation results in the corporate database.
Uses feedback from structural geologist to validate technical interpretation(s).
Contributes to the preparation of internal technical reports.
Participate in technical conferences and workshops, and contribute in publishing technical papers.
Operations:
Contributes in planning and follow-up of surface and borehole geological data gathering programs with the support of the senior geophysicist and subject matter specialists.
Contributes post-drilling analyses and provide feedback to his/her mentor.
Generic Accountabilities
Supervision
No supervision role but participates in team discussions in order to help the ream meeting the functional objectives.
Budgets
Observe the required for the preparation of the Function / Division / Department / Section budgets, assist in the implementation of the approved Budget, and work plans to deliver business objectives.
Observe the investigation for any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control.
Implement approved Function/ Division/ Department/ Section policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of the work programs in line with Company and International standards.
Performance Management
Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the Function/ Division / Department/ Section in line with the Company Performance framework.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
Contributes in the implementation of new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes.
Work closely with the senior geologists and engineers in order to identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with best industry standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.
Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability
Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures, controls, applicable legislation, and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices.
Reports
Provide inputs to prepare progress reports for Company Management.
Communications & Working Relationships:
Internal
Regular communication with operation geologists and drilling engineers.
Occasional communication with the Team Leader and/or Manager
External
Occasional contact with Shareholder representatives.
Occasional contact with consultants and service companies on new developments of tools and interpretation methods.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills:
Qualification
Bachelor Degree in Geosciences (Preferred Hydrogeology Geosciences).
Experience & Knowledge & Skills
10 years of experience (Mainly Mining)
Worked in mainly on water aquifers, salt and brines.
Used in well-known industrial applications.
Exposed to different mining activities including data management, studies, and operations.
