Job Description

We are looking for Principal Geologist, for industrial minerals division to help lead and oversee exploration programs to identify and evaluate potential mineral deposits. As a seasoned Principal Geologist, you will report directly to the Head of Exploration and apply your extensive expertise in prospect generation and evaluation of exploration projects. Additionally, you will provide support to the Business (BD) and Project Development (PD) teams throughout various project execution phases, including scoping, pre-feasibility, feasibility, project assessment, remediation, and decommissioning/closure. The role demands extensive fieldwork, training young geologists, and collaborating with consultants

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Lead and supervise exploration activities in the field as well as the office by working closely with the team.

2. Carry out technical functions including geological mapping, sampling, logging when appropriate, and deliver high quality geological products.

3. Generate exploration targets using geological mapping, geochemical and geophysical data.

4. Assists Head of Exploration in preparing yearly budgets.

5. Initiating, leading, coordinating and reviewing scoping, pre-feasibility, and feasibility studies by working with BD & PD teams plus consultants.

6. Reporting and presenting as required for project deliverables.

7. Mentor young geologists, and help them improve their skills

Requirements

Education:

Bachelor's degree in geology.

Qualification in Economic Geology will be an added advantage

Experience:

- Minimum 10 years of experience as an exploration geologist with increasing levels of responsibility is preferred.

- Exposure to sedimentary basins and associated commercial deposits.

- Multiple commodities including various industrial minerals (dolomite, gypsum, silica, limestone, phosphate, olivine, soda ash).

- Experience with green energy minerals and REE will be well regarded.

Special Skills & Knowledge:

- Knowledge of mineral deposits, sedimentary basin analysis and models, and exploration methods used to evaluate and discover industrial mineral deposits.

- Ability to identify various minerals that are used in industrial applications and instruct staff to recognize favourable geologic settings for exploration.

- Understanding of the technical and economic attributes of industrial minerals and granular and crushed rock aggregate

- Being fit to conduct exertive field work. - General understanding of mining operations.

- Good working knowledge and skills with GIS, MX Deposit, and Leapfrog software

- Experience in due diligence activities and auditing.

- NI 43-101, JORC Technical report writing.

This position is based at Muscat office but require extensive travels to project sites
