Job Description

Job Summary:

The MEP Draftsman will be responsible for creating detailed drawings for

mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems

for construction projects. Working under tight timelines, the Draftsman must coordinate with site engineers, subcontractors, and consultants to ensure drawing accuracy and alignment with the project execution plan.

Key Responsibilities:

Drafting:

Prepare

shop drawings

,

as-built drawings

, and

coordination drawings

for HVAC, drainage, water supply, firefighting, and electrical systems. Modify and update drawings in line with project changes or site conditions. Prepare

quantity take-offs

from drawings for MEP works (as required).
Site Coordination:

Visit construction sites to collect data and verify drawings as per actual conditions. Coordinate with site engineers to reflect installation constraints and modifications. Resolve drawing discrepancies with architectural, structural, and MEP trades.

Standards & Submittals:

Ensure all drawings are prepared per

local authority standards

(e.g., DEWA, DM, DCD). Submit drawings for

consultant/engineer approval

and revise as per comments. Maintain drawing logs and version control.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Diploma or certificate

in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Drafting. Minimum

5-8 years of experience

in a

contracting company

in the UAE/GCC. Proficient in

AutoCAD

(Revit or BIM is a plus). Knowledge of

UAE local authority requirements

(DEWA, DCD, DM, Etisalat, etc.). Strong coordination skills and ability to meet site-driven deadlines. Attention to detail and understanding of site execution practices.
