Nauru Medical Centre is seeking a qualified and compassionate
Mental Health Nurse
to join its healthcare team. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive mental health nursing care, support patients with acute and chronic mental health conditions, and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
Provide assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of mental health nursing care.
Support patients with mental health conditions in inpatient and outpatient settings.
Administer medications and monitor treatment plans in accordance with clinical guidelines.
Conduct mental health assessments, risk assessments, and crisis interventions.
Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
Collaborate with doctors, psychologists, social workers, and allied health professionals.
Educate patients and families on mental health conditions, treatment plans, and coping strategies.
Participate in quality improvement activities and clinical audits.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Nursing with specialization in Mental Health / Psychiatric Nursing.
Current and valid nursing license/registration from home country.
Minimum of 5 to 10 years' experience as a Mental Health / Psychiatric Nurse.
Experience working in hospital or community mental health settings.
Strong communication, assessment, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Willingness to work in a remote healthcare setting.
Desirable Criteria
Previous experience in remote, rural, or island healthcare settings.
Experience in acute mental health, community mental health, or substance abuse services.
Ability to adapt to multicultural environments.
