Job Description
The Mandarin-English Interpreter will facilitate clear and accurate communication between Mandarin-speaking and English-speaking team members on construction sites, in meetings, and during technical discussions. This role is vital to ensuring project accuracy, safety, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Interpret verbal communication between English and Mandarin speakers in real-time during meetings, site inspections, safety briefings, and training sessions. Translate construction documents, emails, and technical materials from Mandarin to English and vice versa. Assist project managers, engineers, and field workers in overcoming language barriers during daily operations. Provide cultural insight to improve collaboration among multicultural teams. Ensure confidentiality and accuracy in all translations and interpretations. Support administrative or coordination tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
Fluency in both Mandarin Chinese and English (spoken and written). Proven experience as an interpreter, preferably in a construction, engineering, or industrial environment. Familiarity with construction terminology in both languages is highly preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work on-site and in fast-paced environments. High attention to detail and professionalism.
