POSITION SUMMARY
The Manager Design will report to the Senior Director Project Management and Feasibility EMEA. The Manager Design provides content leadership on feasibility-stage projects, which include managed, franchised and company-owned hotels, to ensure quality control, brand compliance and operational acceptability. The candidate will also be project manager for prototypical select service projects.
SCOPE
The Manager Design provides support in design analysis and evaluation and is responsible for projects of appropriate scope and complexity.
Location requirements: The Manager Design to be located Dubai Global Design, Central Park Towers, Level 11, Dubai International Financial Center (DIFC)
Language requirements: High proficiency (speaking, reading, and writing) in English is required. Proficiency in other European languages and/or Arabic is desirable.
Travel Requirements: There is 30% business travel required.
EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS
Global Design Feasibility and support in Project Management
Provide design reviews and solutions for feasibility projects working closely with Development, Feasibility, Brand, and CLS.
Coordinate Criteria/Facilities programs for assigned projects.
Contribute to ongoing support, tracking and reporting of feasibility project pipeline.
Occasionally provide layout sketches in support of implementing prototypical designs
Support in managing design consultants, and invoicing to project budgets.
Provide project design quality assurance services for projects of appropriate scope and complexity, including HDC approval, plan review, and turnover.
Actively contribute to documenting, maintaining, administering, and improving the processes for delivering services.
Support owners in the selection of building products relevant to the brand specifications based on prototype standards.
Maintain working knowledge of brand design and brand standards.
Compile and provide continent input/expertise on brand standards, support in working with other Marriott departments.
Manage selling the brand and design and assist in negotiation of projects to the external customers.
Provide information, interpretation, and guidance to outside owners / franchisees as well as internal design staff for adapting brand standards to specific projects.
Manage project communication to owners, franchisees, internal project stakeholders and disciplines.
Participate in site visit/market surveys as required to develop better understanding of site/market demands.
Manage assigned project budgets.
Assist with improvement of brands.
Financial and Accounting Management
Coordinate and support in reviewing outside consultants, their proposals, contracts and invoicing.
Prepare appropriate fee and expense estimates for Work Orders, DRA/TSAs in accordance with supervisor.
Talent Management
Train colleagues and outside consultants in methods relating to feasibility.
Demonstrate an awareness of personal strengths and areas for improvement and acts independently to improve and increase skills and knowledge.
Owner Relations
Represent department both externally and internally.
Others
Perform other duties as appropriate and assigned by supervisor or department head.
Comply with Marriott International Hotels Limited Regional Office policies and procedures.
CANDIDATE PROFILE - KEY TALENTS AND EXPERIENCE DESIRED
REQUIRED:
Minimum 8 years of experience preferably in hospitality.

4 year undergraduate degree in Architecture or related design discipline.
Architectural license preferred.
