The Role of Manager, Design and Innovation, EMEA:

We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Manager Design and Innovation EMEA, to join our Four Seasons Corporate Office team in Dubai!

This role reports to the Senior Director Design and Innovation, EMEA and will be responsible for supporting the interior design lifecycle of both new hotel projects and operating hotels from pre-concept design to opening. The focus will be on elevating design and product quality to ensure each project delivers a best-in-class Four Seasons guest experience.

Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Developing renovation strategies in collaboration with Design and Innovation leads and other Four Seasons stakeholders. Outlining improvements over the short and long term to ensure we are in line with brand quality requirements and a competitive market position. Reviewing of proposed design scope, attendance of design presentations, model room reviews and production of related reports
  • Review of concept and schematic design presentations, detail design drawings, finishes and FF&E specification submissions for renovation and new build projects. Preparation of design review reports
  • Presenting potential new Interior Design Consultants, Art Consultants and Restaurant and Bar Design specialists for internal review. Assisting in obtaining their portfolios, company profiles outlining studio structure, and validating quality of design documentation and ability to deliver a best in class Four Seasons product
  • Developing the foundation of design briefs. Collaborating with the Project lead and Project Interior Design lead in review of the area summary, development facilities summary, owner/developer insight, and site data. Conducting desk top research on destination, competitive market, imagery, and information to be used in development of design narrative document
  • Contributing to design standards updates, participating in annual or bi-annual reviews of design standards to ensure accuracy prior to issuance
  • Creating and updating monthly internal project status reports and renovation progress reports
Our Ideal Manager, Design and Innovation candidate will have:

An undergraduate degree in Interior Design, and a minimum of 8 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience as design lead or senior interior designer in an international hospitality design consultancy. Thorough understanding of hospitality, restaurant, and bar design principles. Experience gained in design department of a luxury hotel operator would be a plus.

The ideal candidate will have exceptional knowledge of architectural and interior design process and documentation, excellent space planning skills, FF&E design, millwork design, excellent knowledge of materials, finishes and specification writing. Graphic design skills and excellent command in English as applied to design briefs and design narratives, proficiency in related software such as Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, Publisher, InDesign, Photoshop and Sketchup.

This role requires a team player with exceptional work ethic, strong initiative, self-motivation, ability to manage conflicting priorities of multiple internal and external stakeholders, understanding of fiscal landscape and appetite of ownership for improvements, and ability to adapt to changing priorities.

Travel will be required in this role, up to 40 \xe2\x80\x93 60 days per annum.
