\xe2\x80\x93 Controls & Governance About the Job: The Controls & Governance Manager will be responsible for applying broad operational knowledge and sound business judgment to ensure compliance with internal policies across the organization. The role will be instrumental in defining, improving and delivering on internal policy enhancements and ensuring governance, risk management and controls are in place to mitigate the inherent risks of the business. Role holder should have detailed understanding of banking sales processes and be able to identify the full range of risks related to processes, regulatory compliance, organization, policy, and technology. Role holder to be comfortable interacting with a range of roles and must have a sound technical and commercial understanding and the ability to learn new concepts quickly. The Manager should be comfortable performing as a sole contributor and lead a team. Key Responsibilities:
Governance o Accountable for driving effective governance across the organization o Develop governance dashboard to present state of internal controls and compliance o Proactively identify issues, escalate to senior management and develop and implement corrective actions o Providing monthly updates to senior management on controls
Audit o Standard Controls Test Plan \xe2\x80\x93 Conduct regular controls assessment, review processes, ensure timely submission of assessment results and corrective actions o Health checks: Conduct targeted reviews focused on specific operating areas
/functions o Process deep-dive: Conduct front to back review of sales processes
Data Protection and Information Security o Responsible for developing Data Protection and Information security policies for the organization o Implement solutions to ensure organization wide compliance with data protection policies o Carry out regular self-risk assessments o Proactively identify issues, escalate to senior management and develop and implement corrective actions
Risk and Control Reengineering o Assess inherent risks, provide quality feedback on forthcoming changes, corrective measures to be undertaken o Leading the identification and assessment of the risks inherent in all sales processes, activities, processes and systems o Create various reporting metrics to identify emerging business and operational risk trends by channel /process
o Driving improvements to the Controls environment and processes, ensuring key risks and issues are captured o Partnering with key leads to ensure a robust controls environment o Conduct monthly surveillances within the defined timelines on various processes o Identify misses, losses, violations to policy and non adherence to processes via designed control measures, analysis, MIS, and other activities o Escalate matters within defined timelines to senior management Qualifications
Strong background in Controls, Operations, process design and re-engineering, improvement methodologies
Good understanding of Data Protection and Information Security challenges and solution implementation
Good knowledge of Banking Sales Operations, and general banking business and associated risks
Strong project management discipline
Ability to lead by example, strong influential and interpersonal skills
Strong ability to engage at the senior management level and demonstrated communication experience at different levels of organization
Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with minimum of 2+ years of having managed Controls, Risk, Audit, Sales
Process experience in UAE banking industry
Ability to work independently in fast paced environment with demonstrated ability to accomplish goals on complex, time sensitive projects
Ability to commute/relocate:
Dubai: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
