Responsible for the Risk Management and Governance of Islamic Banking business.
Support the Saadiq Management in executing business strategy, reinforcing exemplary governance and control.
Strategy
Work with the COO, Country Teams and Global Islamic Banking Team in developing business strategy in terms of Operational Risk Management, ensuring full alignment with business and functions
Work with relevant product or segment COOs to ensure that the Operational Risk Framework for Islamic Banking is fully embedded in the structure
Business
Work with Saadiq Team to increase business efficiency and strengthen operational risk management discipline across geographies
Ensure the global process standards are enforced in the business across geographies through engaging various stakeholders
Service Delivery and Operational Excellence: Coordinate and prioritize business operating issues to business heads, including the capability to deliver new products efficiently
Processes
Work with countries to operationalize policies and procedures
Develop effective capabilities for Shariah compliance
Engage stakeholders at the Group and Country level to drive standardization agenda to ensure consistency of policy standards, procedures, process and operating platform
People & Talent
Support Islamic Banking COO to develop and embed a high performance culture and organisational mindset to effectively embed and communicate Islamic Banking policies and procedures to Group/Countries
Ensure minimum standards in OR awareness embedding OR responsibilities in respective areas of work
Risk Management
Drive implementation of Islamic Banking control measures in ORF
Continuously improve Group Saadiq Risk Management capabilities
Establish links between PGCs, Group OR and Group Islamic Banking to ensure that priorities are channelled, discussed and addressed.
Escalate risk issues and enforce the mitigation at Group and Country level.
Governance
Preparation of Governance Packs
Control Testing - Determine effectiveness/ineffectiveness of defined key controls
Drive the root cause analysis discipline
Perform reviews to ensure that controls are working effectively
Coordinate Audits
Track aging of audit findings and ensure periodic follow-up
Regulatory & Business Conduct
Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group\xe2\x80\x99s Values and Code of Conduct
Take personal responsibility for embedding highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct across the bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with respect to, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and Group Code of Conduct

Must have operational risk background
Preferred islamic banking knowledge
Minimum qualification mba/post graduate with over 5 years of banking industry experience

Tertiary education
Relevant managerial experience
