This position is responsible for organizing, coordinating and administering all clinical and nursing education improvement efforts at MH. This position is also responsible for developing and implementing strategies to ensure innovative and improved services within nursing, the community and MH.
Responsibilities
Pro-actively participates in collaboration with the Line Manager to meet the division\'s strategic and operational goals.
Contributes to the development and improvement of \'business unit, division, department, section\' policies and procedures while ensuring compliance with the applicable standards and requirements of Joint Commission International (JCI), Legislation, Quality Standards, DOH/DHA, and all other applicable regulatory bodies.
Participates in meetings and maintains professionalism and confidentiality as per MH\xe2\x80\x99s standard code of conduct Manages and directs Nursing Institute community outreach priorities
Works with various community agencies relating to nursing areas to collect data and submit activities related to community projects (data collection)
Ensures collaboration with other departments throughout MH to provide for the overall achievement of the MH nursing recruitment and education process.
Facilitates multiple projects concurrently.
Identifies staff development needs associated with performance improvement methodology, convenes and facilitates performance improvement teams.
Coordinates educates and consults on principles and methodology of acceptable performance improvement initiatives.
Collaborates with Quality, Patient Safety and Risk Department to integrate organization wide quality and outcome goals into nursing practice Identifies nursing specific patient safety goals and implements approaches for measuring monitoring.
Identifies quality benchmarks/standards for nursing based on local and international regulatory requirements
Assists in designing and implementing clinical programs, initiatives and services to ensure patient safety and quality healthcare delivery.
Participate as a team member of Quality Management team in implementing standard operating procedures and protocols relating to patient care services and education.
Contribute to the setting and monitoring of measurable standards of care and be accountable for maintaining standards.
Provides supervision, guidance, on the job training and shares continuous constructive feedback for direct reports if required.
Pro-actively identifies and meets self-development requirements for professional growth by developing and sustaining own knowledge, clinical skills and professional awareness.
Maintains the required Continuous Medical Education (CME) hours in compliance with DOH/DHA regulations
Communicates effectively with team members and maintains good interdepartmental liaison to ensure smooth implementation of operational activities.
Communicates in a culturally sensitive manner whilst interacting with patients to ensure seamless patient experience.
Qualifications
ESSENTIAL
Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Nursing, or equivalent qualification (minimum three (3) year duration) from an accredited program
Minimum of six (6) years clinical experience in an appropriate and relevant healthcare setting post qualification
Minimum of two (2) years as a Senior Charge Nurse or minimum three (3) years in a Charge Nurse position
Demonstrated success in the application of performance improvement methodologies, project team facilitation and integration of change management theory.
Valid and current national license
BLS
Strong decision-making and conflict resolution skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, the use of PCs, spreadsheets, database and other software applications
Fluency in written and spoken English
PREFERRED
Certificate of post graduate diploma in Nursing/Healthcare/Management/Administration field
International accreditation experience
Indication of progressive leadership, management and clinical positions
