Role Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced In-House Legal Counsel to join our legal team, supporting our shipping and commodities trading operations. This role requires a proactive legal professional with a strong grasp of maritime law, trade finance, and cross-border transactions. You will provide strategic legal advice and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations across our trading and shipping activities.

Responsibilities:

Provide legal support for international shipping and commodities trading transactions. Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, charterparty agreements, sale and purchase agreements for vessels, and trade finance documentation. Advise on UAE commercial regulations, DMCC rules, and escrow arrangements. Support the business on vessel acquisitions, chartering, and related maritime matters. Work closely with internal stakeholders, external counsel, and regulatory authorities to mitigate legal risks. Ensure compliance with international commercial laws and trade regulations. Monitor legal developments in shipping, trade, and commercial law that impact the business.
Requirements:

Qualified lawyer in a common law jurisdiction or UAE (preferred). 5+ years of post-qualification experience, ideally gained in-house or with a law firm specializing in shipping, maritime law, or commodities trading. In-depth knowledge of contract law, cross-border transactions, and international commercial law. Experience in vessel acquisition, chartering, trade finance, or related areas is highly desirable. Strong drafting, analytical, and negotiation skills in English; proficiency in Arabic is an advantage. Familiarity with DMCC company law, escrow structures, and UAE commercial regulations.

Pay: AED18,000.00 - AED25,000.00 per month
