The Leasing Officer is responsible for managing all aspects of the leasing process, from marketing and showing properties to qualifying prospective tenants and preparing lease agreements. This role plays a key part in maintaining high occupancy rates and ensuring a positive tenant experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Promote available rental properties through advertising, social media, and real estate platforms.
Conduct property tours and show units to prospective tenants.
Respond promptly to leasing inquiries via phone, email, and in-person.
Screen applicants through background checks, credit checks, and income verification.
Prepare lease agreements and explain lease terms and conditions to tenants.
Ensure all lease documentation complies with relevant laws and company policies.
Coordinate move-in and move-out processes, including inspections and paperwork.
Maintain accurate records of tenants, leases, and occupancy reports.
Work closely with property management and maintenance teams to address tenant needs.
Monitor market trends to set competitive rental rates and advise on pricing strategy.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree in business, real estate, or a related field preferred.
Proven experience in leasing, real estate, or customer service.
Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with property management software and Microsoft Office.
Ability to multitask and handle a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of local leasing laws and fair housing regulations.
